F.A.Q's ~ Frequently Asked Questions (please click on your question from the list below): How do I order from your website? Using this site is easy. Simply select the item you require and add to your shopping basket using the 'add to basket' link. Once you have all the items you require you are ready to go to 'Checkout'. Here you will be given a summary of your complete order and asked to select your delivery method. If you reside in the U.K. remember that postage is free. Items will be sent Royal Mail 1st class (recorded delivery is used for purchases over £15 in value). For International customers there is a flat rate charge for postage. Please select the correct postal service to avoid a delay in order processing. You will then be asked to submit your personal details, such as name and the address you would like the order to be sent to. After completion you will be required to submit your chosen method of payment. When ordering is complete you will be sent an e-mail of confirmation of your order from us, so please be sure to enter your correct contact information. What methods of payment do you accept? We accept most major Credit card and Debit cards and PayPal. If you wish to use your credit or debit card we use PayPal as our payment service provider. You do not need a PayPal account in order to shop with us. Unfortunately we no longer accept personal cheques or postal orders as payment. Please note that we can only accept payment in GB pounds sterling (£). Can I order and pay over the phone? Unfortunately we cannot process orders or take payments over the telephone. If I pay by credit or debit card are my bank details safe? We currently use PayPal* as our secure payment gateway. PayPal uses secure socket layer (SSL) technology and you can check that you are entering your card details on a secure page by checking the web address begins'https://..." or by the closed padlock symbol. No credit or debit card details are viewed by this site. *A PayPal account is not required to use this service. To view our Privacy Policy please see our Privacy Policy. How much do you charge for delivery and when will my order arrive? We aim to process all orders within 48 hours (with the exception of weekends and Bank Holidays). Usually everything on our website is in stock and ready for dispatch. In the unlikely event that an item purhased is unavailable we will contact you immediately. Delivery Charges Delivery within the UK is charged at £2.95 per order. For orders placed outside the UK but within the European Union delivery is £6.99 per order. For UK customers spending over £75.00 shipping is free*. When available, we also offer Special Delivery, at an extra £4.50. This service is available to UK customers only. Please see here for full details. *please note that if part of the order is subsequently returned taking the total value below £75.00 the standard postage & packing fee will be deducted from any refund.
Order Despatch If you order before 3pm (Sunday to Thursday) your order will be despatched the next working day. (Don’t forget weekends and Bank Holidays aren’t working days). Please see our delivery page for more information. We will e-mail you as soon as your order is despatched so that you can anticipate its arrival. We send all UK items Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery (with the exception of very low value orders which will be sent standard 1st class). This means we can track your parcel and it will require a signature upon delivery. Orders usually arrive the following working day after despatch but please allow up to 7 working days. For orders being sent to addresses within the EU please allow up to 10 days from the date of despatch. We regret we cannot provide exact delivery dates as, in order to keep delivery costs down, we use Royal Mail who only provide us with estimated delivery times. We do not offer an express delivery service, so please ensure that you allow enough time for your order to reach you – at least 5 working days (UK) and 10 working days (EU). All orders will be sent by recorded post and someone will need to sign for the parcel as proof of receipt. If no-one’s in, you’ll receive a card letting you know where you can collect your items (normally the local sorting office or depot). There will also be a phone number you can call to re-arrange delivery. If you wish to cancel an order placed with Christenings and Occasions please e-mail us with your intention to cancel within 7 days and include your order reference number. If your order has not been processed we will cancel your order immediately and send e-mail confirmation. As orders are dispatched quickly it is more than likely that your order will already be on it's way to you and we would then ask you to follow our returns procedure. My order has arrived and is unsuitable. How do I return it? We are a small family run business and not a large mail order company, so for us to process refunds and exchanges as efficiently as possible we ask that you adhere to the following instructions when wishing to return all or part of your order. Full details of our Returns Policy can be found on our terms and conditions page. My order has arrived and is faulty. What do I do? We always try to ensure our items are in perfect condition when they leave us. If on the rare occasion you find your item is damaged or faulty please contact us as soon as possible after delivery and within 48 hours of receipt. We will ask you to return your item to us and arrange for an exchange or refund. Please see our terms and conditions for full details. My order has not arrived. What shall I do? Please allow enough time for your order to arrive. We will e-mail as soon as we have dispatched your order and would ask customers to e-mail us if they have not received their orders after the following number of days: U.K. residents: 7 working days Customers in Europe: 14 working days For customers residing in the U.K. please note that if your order is over £15 in value it wil require a signature upon receipt.
