How do I order from your website?
Using this site is easy. Simply select the item you require and add to your shopping basket using the 'add to basket' link. Once you have all the items you require you are ready to go to 'Checkout'. Here you will be given a summary of your complete order and asked to select your delivery method. If you reside in the U.K. remember that postage is free. Items will be sent Royal Mail 1st class (recorded delivery is used for purchases over £15 in value). For International customers there is a flat rate charge for postage. Please select the correct postal service to avoid a delay in order processing. You will then be asked to submit your personal details, such as name and the address you would like the order to be sent to. After completion you will be required to submit your chosen method of payment. When ordering is complete you will be sent an e-mail of confirmation of your order from us, so please be sure to enter your correct contact information.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept most major Credit card and Debit cards and PayPal payments.
Unfortunately we no longer accept personal cheques or postal orders as payment.
Please note that we can only accept payment in GB pounds sterling (£).
Can I order and pay over the phone?
Unfortunately we cannot process orders or take payments over the telephone at present.
If I pay by credit or debit card are my bank details safe?
We currently use PayPal* and Google Checkout as our secure payment gateways.
Both sites use secure socket layer (SSL) technology and you can check that you are entering your card details on a secure page by checking the web address begins'https://..." or by the closed padlock symbol.
No credit or debit card details are viewed by this site.
*A PayPal account is not required to use the PayPal service, as customers who do not have a PayPal account or do not wish to use their PayPal account can pay with their accepted debit/credit card. When directed to the PayPal website please click 'continue' on the left hand side of the screen to make debit/credit card payments.
How much do you charge for delivery?
For customers residing in the United Kingdom we charge £2.95 per order.
For orders over the value of £75.00 U.K. standard delivery is FREE of charge.
Orders are sent using Royal Mail first class post and orders over the value of £15.00 are sent by trackable means and will require a signature upon receipt.
For more urgent orders we offer Special Delivery at a cost of £5.95. This means that your order will take priority and ensure that your order will arrive within 1-3 working days.
For customers residing within the EU postage and packing is £6.99 per order. Orders are sent by International signed for delivery.
*Unfortunately we are unable to ship outside of the EU.*
How long will my order take to arrive?
We know how important it is to receive goods promptly and we always try to process orders as quickly as possible - all orders are dispatched within 48 hours of receiving cleared payment, many are sent the same day. Orders are dispatched every day Monday to Friday - with the exclusion of bank holidays.
Orders sent within the U.K. usually take between 3-5 working days. Special Delivery orders will arrive within 1-3 working days.
For customers residing in the EU, orders usually arrive within 5 working days, but please allow up to 14 working days.
U.K. customers please note:
If Royal Mail are unable to deliver an item to you it will be returned to your local sorting office for collection. If the order is not collected within 14 days it will be returned to us. We will contact you by e-mail to inform you that the order has been returned to us and keep it for you for 3 working days. If the order is still required return postage charges will be applied.
I need my order urgently. Do you do offer an express delivery service?
Yes, we do. We charge £5.95 for Special Delivery and orders will arrive within 1 to 3 working days.
A signature will be required and if there is no-one to sign, a calling card will be left which needs to be responded to within 48 hours. You can rearrange a delivery or pick the order up from your local sorting office. It is the customers responsibility to contact Royal Mail and arrange collection/re-delivery. Christenings & Occasions accept no liability for failed deliveries if the customer is not available. If you fail to respond to a calling card a refund of the original postage will not be made.

How do I cancel my order?
If you wish to cancel an order placed with Christenings and Occasions please e-mail us with your intention to cancel within 7 days and include your order reference number.
If your order has not been processed we will cancel your order immediately and send e-mail confirmation. As orders are dispatched quickly it is more than likely that your order will already be on it's way to you and we would then ask you to follow our returns procedure.
My order has arrived and is unsuitable. How do I return it?
We are a small family run business and not a large mail order company, so for us to process refunds and exchanges as efficiently as possible we ask that you adhere to the following instructions when wishing to return all or part of your order.
If for any reason you wish to return any of your unworn/unused items please e-mail us (sales@christeningsandoccasions.co.uk) within 7 days of receipt . Your returns should then be sent, along with your name, order number and details of whether you have arranged a refund or exchange to the address given on your invoice (this can also be found on our terms and conditions page). We allow a further 7 days for you to post the items to us, giving you a total of 14 days from the date of receipt to return all or part of your order.
Please note items must be returned in their original condition and will be inspected upon return. We advise orders are sent back via a guaranteed delivery service, and your local Post Office will advise on the level of insurance you require or provide a ‘proof of posting certificate’ as we cannot be held liable for any goods lost in transit to us. The items are your responsibility until they reach us. Return postage costs are at the customers own expense.
Once your goods are accepted back you will be issued with an exchange (if requested and available) or refund. We can only refund by the original means of payment.
We'll refund standard delivery charge (£2.95)* on whole orders where you notify us, in writing (e-mail), within 7 days of receipt of your intention to cancel. If notification is received later than 7 days after receipt, then we'll refund the delivery charge only if the goods are damaged, faulty or incorrect. Where only part of an order is returned postage charges will not be refunded.
Notification of damaged, faulty or incorrect orders must be made as soon as possible after receipt and within 48 hours.
*Please note that customers who had selected Special Delivery or International signed for delivery, only our standard delivery charge (£2.95) only will be refunded on whole orders returned in these circumstances.

My order has arrived and is faulty. What do I do?
We always try to ensure our items are in perfect condition when they leave us. If on the rare occasion you find your item is damaged or faulty please contact us as soon as possible after delivery and within 48 hours of receipt. We will ask you to return your item to us and arrange for an exchange or refund. Please see our terms and conditions for full details.
My order has not arrived. What shall I do?
Please allow enough time for your order to arrive. We will e-mail as soon as we have dispatched your order and would ask customers to e-mail us if they have not received their orders after the following number of days:
U.K. residents: 7 working days
Customers in Europe: 14 working days
For customers residing in the U.K. please note that if your order is over £15 in value it wil require a signature upon receipt. If there is no-one to sign for delivery the parcel will be taken to your local sorting office for collection.
